JAMMU: Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma has placed a Sanitary Supervisor under suspension with immediate effect after the preliminary findings of the enquiry Committee constituted after a video of Mortuary went viral on social medial, showing acceptance of bribe and laxity on part of the staff on duty.

The enquiry Committee headed by Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Administrator Associated Hospitals Jammu, has established that the official was present at the mortuary on the said date and has been found guilty of indulging in corrupt practices.

The Committee has also found that the official was hand in glove with certain private persons and carrying out unscrupulous activities which has caused inconvenience to the patients and earned a bad name for the institution.

The Committee in its findings has further pointed towards laxity on part of concerned authorities besides procedural irregularities and lack of proper monitoring.

Moreover, taking serious note of the preliminary findings regarding acceptance of bribe running a racket along with certain unscrupulous elements and plying of illegal ambulances in contravention of Motor Vehicle Act; Principal Government Medical College has strongly recommended the case to Administrative Department for handing over to the concerned agencies for In-depth investigation in the matter.
