‘Security vehicle of JKPCC president recalled’

Jammu/Srinagar, December 09: JKPCC has taken a strong note of the withdrawal of security vehicle of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee president and questioned the fairness of the government with regard to the ongoing elections.

In a statement issued here, JKPCC Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the security vehicle of JKPCC president has been recalled during the ongoing elections “which speaks of the fairness of the government and its intention to deprive the opposition congress of campaigning in the elections”.

Urging election commission to act and exercise its authority, JKPCC president said: “the security agencies are hell bent to favour the ruling party and this exposes the hollow claims of the government to provide due security to all the candidates, at least during the ongoing elections.”

He said that even the senior AICC leader Rajni Patil was not provided any security during her tour on Wednesday. “Except one PSO, no proper security was provided to her. AICC secretary and former minister Sudhir Sharma was accompanying her.”

Sharma said that the election commission failed to ensure the security of top leaders of congress. He said that rather security of senior leaders was further downgraded on the eve elections and during elections, which is unfortunate and condemnable.

He urged the Lt Governor to take notice of these things and ensure fairness of the system.

Sharma further asked the Election Commission to take serious note of “MCC violations and attempts made by the ruling party to indulge in electoral malpractices”.
