Authorities demolish illegal structures, retrieve land in Gulmarg

Gulmarg: Following the directions of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, authorities on Monday demolished a number of illegal structures at tourist spot Gulmarg.

The Baramulla administration constituted a team, headed by ADC Baramulla Ahsan Mir, on the directions of Jammu and Kashmir High Court after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was submitted regarding illegal constructions, retrieval of encroached land and action against the tenants whose term of the lease had expired.

“Baramulla administration has constituted a team of officers to retrieve land in illegal possession, demolish illegal structures and take action those tenants whose term of the lease had expired,” said ADC Baramulla.

“The lease of 69 properties in Gulmarg has expired,” he said.
