Jammu (JKNI): Ravinder Raina said BJP is committed to improve the sports infrastructure in the Union Territory. He was speaking in favour of the BJP candidates for the ongoing DDC Elections.

Bharatiya Janata Party led government at the centre has put special focus of the development of Sports which is the only common thread that binds people together and helps in developing a feeling of patriotism and unity that can counter regional factionalism.

Ravinder Raina, BJP President Jammu & Kashmir along with other senior leaders of party addressed series of rallies at Dinga Amb, Nagri, Jakhwad, Madeen and other areas in Kathua District.

BJP Vice-President & Prabhari Yudhvir Sethi, Jangbir Singh Seh-Prabhari, Rajeev Jasrotia former Minister, Janak Bharti, Rashpal Verma, Kulbushan Singh, Raj Singh, Asha Anand, Sudesh Kumar Sethu, Shivdev Singh, Balwant Singh, candidates Rimmy charak Karan Atri, Neelam Devi Suresh Kumar phalli, Rahul corporator vishal and others were present in the rallies.

Ravinder Raina reminded that the foundation stone has already been laid for a mega sports complex spread over 270 Kanals of land will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 58.23 Crore. The sports complex will be named as “Shri Arun Jaitley Memorial Sports Complex”. Project will be executed under the Prime Minister Development Package (PMDP).

Following the relaxation in COVID19 SOP’s, sports activities have already begun at the inter-school level across J&K, as well as the groundwork for the build out of new sports infrastructure has also started. Over 200 Crore rupees has been allocated for revamp of the sports sector in J&K by the Modi Government under the PMDP. Sports Centre located at Nehru Par, Srinagar is almost ready to be dedicated to the people of Kashmir. Similar Sports centre will also be built at Jammu. Every district will have an Indoor & Outdoor Stadium.

Out of the 31 projects that are currently underway, Eight indoor stadiums are already functional on Public Private Partnership (PPP) Basis. The government targets to take the best of sports facilities to the most basic level.

Ravinder Raina questioned the integrity & works of “dynasts” who ruled the state previously. He alleged that “dynasts” have played with the fortunes of youth of J&K but now it’s time, they counter with a “Fair Play” for the development of New India!
