62% turnout marks the conclusion of 2nd Phase of DDC polls in kishtwar

Kishtwar : The second phase of the District Development Council and Panchayat By-elections in the Dachhan and Paddar DDC Constituencies  ended successfully today  with 61.64% polling in the DDC elections and 59.57% polling in Sarpanch By-Elections.

The entire polling exercises was conducted  under overall supervision of District Panchayat Election Officer, Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma who himself along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Dr Harmeet Singh Mehta visited the far flung and snow bound Machail Area of Paddar and inspected the ongoing polling process there.

The polling in the 2nd phase was held for 02 DDC Constituencies viz  Paddar and Dachhan.Besides the polls for vacant sarpanch seats of Panchayat Lopara-B and  panchayat Atholi  of Dachhan and Paddar Block respectively were also held today.

People showed great zeal and enthusiasm  in casting their votes which can be gauged by the long queues of voters at polling stations since 7:00 am in the morning.

The 3rd phase  of DDC and Panchayat By-Elections is going to be held on 4th of the Dec 2020 for Nagseni and Bounjwah DDC constituencies for which training of poll parties and others preparations have been made,said DPEO Kishtwar.
