Srinagar: Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF )Hakeem Yaseen has alleged that candidates in fray for ongoing DDC and Panchayat elections in district Budgam have not been provided required logistic support by the administration to enable their free movement in thier respective constituencies for election Campaigning.

According to statement issued to KNS, he said that complaints are pouring in constantly that the candidates have been caged in police stations or hotel rooms on the pretext of providing security cover and they were not able to visit their respective constituencies freely.

Speaking to a meeting of party workers of Waterhail area of Khansahib constituency, on Sunday, for seeking people’s support in favour of DDC candidate Parnewa , Hakeem Yaseen enjoined upon the State Elections Commissioner ( SEC) to take note of the grievances of candidates in fray for ongoing DDC and Panchayat elections with regard to ensuring their free movement in their respective constituencies for election campaigning. He said SEC should conduct free and fair elections which was imperative to restore confidence and trust on the democratic exercise.

Seeking votes in favour of various PDF candidates for DDC, district Budgam, Hakeem Yaseen said that these elections were primarily necessary for execution and monitoring of need based development and progress on ground at local level. “Besides, these elections have also provided an opportunity to defeat and discourage nefarious plans of divisive and communal forces who want to divide jammu and kashmir on religion and regional basis, ” Hakeem Yaseen added.

Hakeem Yaseen has urged the people to be united ,at this crucial stage , for protecting the special status , honour and integrity of jammu and kashmir.

PDF Chairman assured the people that his party was ever ready to offer any sacrifice for restoring statehood, special status and domicile rights to Jammu and Kashmir. He hoped that the people would extend their full support and cooperation to PDF for steering Jammu and Kashmir into a peaceful and prosperous region.
