SKUAST-J’s 2 month virtual Agri-entrepreneurship Startup Training concludes

JAMMU : The Two month Virtual Agri-Entrepreneurship Startup Training programme” concluded today with a valedictory function hosted by Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-J.

The concluding session was  held at Division of Agricultural Economics and Agri Business Management, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu.

The training programme was sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India and was organized by Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu under RKVY-RAFTAAR Project.

The main focus of training programme was to provide academic, business & technical mentoring to the selected incubates so as to give wings to their creative abilities & innovative ideas for setting up their start-ups. Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu was the Chief Guest at the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. J.P Sharma briefed about the importance of innovation and agri-preneurship for upliftment of the agricultural sector. He said that our agribusiness ideas should be reoriented that link production with marketing. He further suggested the young minds of J&K and farmers also to come up with new innovative ideas for processing and value addition of agri-produce & develop competencies in packaging, branding and marketing of agri-business products as it is the most important tool towards doubling the farmers’ income. He exhorted the young start-up incubates to go for an offering which is technically feasible, economically viable and demand driven. He also praised and congratulated Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, Head & PI-CEO Agri Business Incubator, SKUAST-J on the successful completion of this two months training programme. He also released the official newsletter of Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu and distributed the certificate of completion of two months training programme among the incubatees.

Dr. D.P Abrol, Dean F.o.A congratulated the incubates on successful completion of their training programme and wished them all the best for their entrepreneurial journey.

Earlier, Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, Prof. & Head and PI, R-ABI SKUAST-Jammu in her welcome address informed the house about the activities undertaken during the programme. She highlighted the key focus areas and lectures delivered during the two months training programme.

Statutory officers of the University viz., Dr. Deepak Kher, DPM, Rajesh Talwar, Registrar & Comptroller, Dr. S.E.H Rizvi, Dean Basic Sciences, Dr. M.S Bhadwal, Dean F.V.Sc. Heads of the various Divisions, and Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dr. S. P. Singh, Dr. Anil Bhat, faculty members & Co-PIs;   Tarunjeet Singh &   Ashish Kumar Isher, Business Executives, RKVY-RAFTAAR Project,   Sabbey Sharma &   Mallika Sharma, faculty members of the division of Agricultural Marketing & ABM were also present during the programme.

The incubates also shared their experience regarding the training programme and expressed their satisfaction and gratitude towards the efforts made by the Administration of the University, PI, Co-PI and the other staff members of Agri business Incubator.

Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Anil Bhat (Assistant Professor). The vote of thanks was presentd by Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Associate Professor and Co-PI.
