J&K Govt hands over awards to Sports Council coaches, players

Jammu: The wait for achievers in various sports disciplines was finally over on Saturday as the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir handed over the prestigious awards to coaches and players in a simple gathering here keeping all COVID pandemic guidelines in place.

The event with minimal gathering and participation of awardees was held on Saturday afternoon at Maulana Azad Stadium.

The awardees including coaches and players were from the year 2012-13 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.

As many as 18 coaches were presented Parshuram Sports Award in recognition of outstanding performance while the 48 outstanding players were presented Sher-e-Kasmir Awards.

The achievers however, thanked to the J&K UT Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for making it possible even in COVID pandemic.

J&K Sports Council Managers S P Singh and Satish Gupta handed over the momentoes and track suits to the awardees on behalf of the government while award money will be transferred to their respective bank accounts.
