SRINAGAR: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson and former union minister, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain Saturday accused People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) of playing politics over the provisions of Articles 370.

Hussain who was designated as election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir said these are the same parties who had vowed to save Articles 370 and 35A are now befooling people on its ‘restoration’.

The BJP leader said provisions of Article 370 were stripped by the Parliament of India and no power on earth can restore it again. He said PAGD which is amalgam of seven political parties seeking restoration of Article 370 befools people to recuperate their lost credibility.

“They are befooling people again on the name of Articles 370 and 35A. When provisions of Article 370 were intact, they pledged to save it at any cost, now when it has gone they say they will restore the same. They actually want to regain their lost credibility,” Hussain told reporters at Dal Lake.

Terming PAGD as ‘Gupkar Gang’, he said how these parties could restore provisions of Article 370 when the matter is sub-judice.

“I fail to understand as to how these parties could restore Article 370 when they themselves say the matter is sub-judice,” he added.

Shahnawaz Hussain also said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have reposed their faith in BJP and they also love Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He said lotus would bloom in beautiful Dal Lake and elsewhere in Kashmir.

“As promised by PM Modi, J&K will touch new heights of development, there will be peace everywhere as people trust BJP and love PM Modi. Lotus will surely bloom in this beautiful Dal Lake and elsewhere,” said the BJP leader.
