J&K reports 608 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 608 new COVID-19 cases, while two deaths took place in the last 24 hours, taking the infection tally to 1,05,984 and the death toll to 1,624, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 311 are from Jammu division and 297 from Kashmir division, they said.

The officials said Srinagar recorded the highest 124 cases, followed by 115 in Jammu.

There are 5,720 active cases, while 98,640 patients have recovered so far, the officials said.

Meanwhile, the union territory reported two COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours – one each from Jammu and Kashmir regions.

Providing district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar has 22243 positive cases (including 124 cases reported today) with 1531 Active Positive, 20310 recovered (including 159 cases recovered today), 402 deaths; Baramulla has 7191 positive cases (including 40 cases reported today) with 568 Active Positive, 6464 recovered (including 65 cases recovered today), 159 deaths; Budgam reported 6677 positive cases (including 47 cases reported today) with 288 active positive cases, 6291 recovered (including 44 cases recovered today), 98 deaths; Pulwama has 4962 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 160 Active Positive, 4716 recoveries (including 10 cases recovered today), 86 deaths; Kupwara has 5027 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 503 Active Positive, 4444 recovered (including 37 cases recovered today) and 80 deaths; Anantnag district has 4495 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 189 Active Positive, 4229 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 77 deaths;  Bandipora has 4333 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 188 Active Positive and 4095 recoveries(including 05 cases recovered today), 50 deaths; Ganderbal has 4076 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 254 Active Positive, 3785 recoveries (including 35 cases recovered today), 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2570 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 77 Active Positive, 2445 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today), 48 deaths and Shopian has 2297 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 69 active positive cases, 2192 recoveries (including 08 cases recovered today)and 36 deaths.

In Jammu division, officials said that Jammu district has 19625 positive cases (including 115 cases reported today) with 590 active positive cases, 18748 recoveries (including 113 cases recovered today), 287 deaths; Rajouri has 3357 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 88 active positive cases, 3220 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today), 49 deaths; Udhampur has 3258 positive cases (including 68 cases reported today) with 364 active positive, 2857 recoveries (including 08 cases recovered today) and 37 deaths; Doda has 2918 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 167 Active positive, 2699 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today), 52 deaths; Kathua has 2677 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 76 active positive cases, 2566 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today) and 35 deaths; Poonch has 2367 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 71 Active Positive, 2274 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered today)and 22 deaths; Samba has 2353 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 163 active positive cases, 2164 recoveries and 26 deaths; Kishtwar has 2322 positive cases (including 35 cases reported today) with 170 active positive, 2136 recoveries (including 31 cases recovered today) and 16 deaths; Ramban has 1826 positive cases (including 23 cases reported today) with 148 active positive, 1660 recoveries and 18 deaths while Reasi has 1410 positive cases (including 04  cases reported today) with 56 active positive cases, 1345 recoveries  and 09 deaths.
