Principal, GDC Baramulla, Prof. Mohammad Maqbool Rather, formally welcomed the guests. He while addressing the gathering stressed upon the importance of conducting such types of workshops and highlighted the aim of career counseling.

Prof. Rather said that career counseling helps students in choosing a field that is in tune with their skills and job expectations, ‘With professional help, most candidates succeed in choosing the right career and perform their level best in their own interest and in the interest of society’, added Prof. Rather.

The Guest Speaker, Suhail-ul-Islam while interacting with the students, he stressed upon the need for good policy makers and administrators especially from social sciences background, who with their better understanding of people and society can come to the ground level for a reality check.

He also suggested the students to pursue higher education from eminent universities, aspire for fellowships, and emerge as great researchers.

Another Guest Speaker, Zeeshan Khan underlined the importance of being optimistic and emphasized that one should not shy away from taking help, practice deep learning and above all, be a good human.

The workshop culminated with a threadbare discussion and a fruitful question-answer session.

Head, Department of Social Work, Amira Wali, moderated the workshop and Convener IQAC, Prof. Abdul Majeed Chalkoo presented vote of thanks.

Lastly, Ms Shaista Qayum, Head, Department of Sociology and the organizer of the event, concluded the workshop by honoring the guests with Mementos and Vote of appreciation.
