108 nominations accepted under phase-II in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: As many as 19 candidates withdrew their nomination papers for phase-II of District Development Council (DDC), Panchayat and ULB by- elections, 2020 in Srinagar as the last date of withdrawal expired on November-19.

The nominations withdrawn include 8 DDC candidates, 1 ULB, 3 Sarpanch and 7 Panch candidates. While 1 nomination of DDC candidate was rejected during the scrutiny.

For the phase-II, as many as 128 candidates filed their nomination papers for participation in DDC, Panchayat and ULB by- elections, 2020 in Srinagar.

As per the District Election office, nominations of 108 candidates were accepted for phase-II. The nominations accepted include 20 ULB candidates, 28 DDC, 8 Sarpanch and 52 Panch candidates.

Besides as independent, the candidates contesting DDC polls and by-elections ULB – 2020 include from different National and State political parties.

As many as 224 nominations have been received for phase-I and phase-II of DDC, By-election Panchayat and By- election ULB 2020 in Srinagar.
