Rajouri: A man has allegedly killed his elder brother on Wednesday during a confrontation over a land dispute in Rajouri district of Jammu region, officials said.

Police officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two brothers from Chingus village of Rajouri had some confrontation over a land dispute and the duo entered into a scuffle on Wednesday morning.

In a fit of rage, 46-year-old Muhammad Aslam, son of Faqir Muhammad attacked his elder brother with an axe, leaving him critically wounded, officials said, adding that the injured was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Rajouri where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Muhammad Sharif, son of Faqir Muhammad of Chingus.

The officials said the accused Muhammad Aslam is absconding while a case has been registered against in Rajouri Police Station, adding that a police team from Chingus Chatyar Police Post is investigating the matter—(KNO)
