JKNPP calls for ‘new year ceasefire’

Srinagar: A day after Panthers Party said that they have ousted the patron from the party for meeting the constituents of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), Prof Bhim Singh Sunday said no one can remove him from the party.

“I am the founder of the party. No one has right to ouster me. Even if a ‘chaprasi’ (peon) is to be removed, there is a procedure for it – the person is to be served with a notice, placed under suspension and may be a committee is formed to decide her/his fate…,” news agency KNS quoted Bhim Singh as saying in a telephonic conversation with it from Jammu.

Asked about the Panthers Party chairperson Hareshdev Singh’s comments about him, Bhim Singh said, “Agencies give money to all of them; they do what these agencies want them to do. They have destroyed the party at the behest of these agencies and the RSS, who give them money.”

On being asked if he had sought permission from the party for meeting PAGD, he said, “When someone invites me for a tea, shall I ask for permission from the party!”

According to KNS, Bhim Singh also said that “no one is happy here (in Jammu) about the land laws. I have petitioned Supreme Court. They (government) cannot do this. They cannot change the decisions of constitution assembly on their own.” (KNS)
