Dr Samoon emphasizes on nurturing entrepreneurial skills in students

SRINAGAR: Principal Secretary Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon has emphasized on nurturing entrepreneurial skills in the students and impressed upon representatives of various organizations to instill confidence in the freshers by giving them a chance to prove their talents by working in their organizations.

He was speaking at an inaugural session of counseling-cum-placement drive for the pass out students of Polytechnic Colleges of Kashmir Division.

The programme was organized by the Directorate of Skill Development J&K and hosted by Govt Polytechnic for Women Bemina Srinagar.

Thirty two organizations participated in the campus for the drive while 4 companies conducted interactions with online mode.

He also encouraged a group of girl entrepreneurs of Govt Polytechnic for Women who are presently undergoing in-house training at Women’s entrepeurnial cell of JKEDI.

He also interacted with all the representatives of companies who were present in the event.

120 pass out students were placed in different companies out of 400 pass outs who participated in the event.

The event was thrown open by the Principal Secretary Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon.

Director Skill development Department,  Sajad Hussain Ganai, Director EDI ,Dr GN Dar and Principals of Polytechnics of Kashmir Division also present the occasion.

About 400 students benefitted from the placement cum counseling session conducted by various organizations including JKEDI and MSME.

The event was concluded by vote of thanks by the Principal Govt Polytecnic for Women, Shafquat Ara.
