Arrangements reviewed for celebration of International Day of Girl Child

ANANTNAG : District Administration Anantnag today reviewed arrangements to celebrate International Day of the Girl Child on 11th of October.

The District Administration headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Gh. Hassan Sheikh chaired a meeting of concerned officers in this regard.

The meeting decided to hold a rally in observance of Covid-19  protocol  for sensitisation of general public for  encouraging and promoting  welfare of  Girl Child.

It was decided that parents of newborn female babies will be felicitated besides 100 top achievers in different fields would be felicitated by way of distribution of kits and cash incentives.

The girl with exceptional ability in the district would be encouraged and motivated to go for higher learning to make a mark in academic and professional fields.

Addressing the meeting, the ADC called for sustained collaborative efforts to remove gender bias and encourage girls at all levels, fields for their systematic development.

He said every right-thinking citizen has to contribute towards the development of society.

The meeting was attended by the officers of Health, ICDS, Social welfare, NGOs and other officers.
