RAJOURI : Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha during his visit to Peeri, Rajouri in connection with Back to Village-3 programme laid foundation stone for construction of Eklavya Model Residential School, Koteranka worth Rs 16 cr.

The Lt Governor observed that Education is the cornerstone of development and completion of the School will certainly ensure the educational welfare of local population.

Aiming at accentuating the road connectivity in the District, the Lt Governor inaugurated various road projects including Kotedhara to Kurhad road under NABARD (RIDF-XX) at a cost of Rs 3.99 cr; Dhangri Dalhori road and Ext upto Kanthole under Languishing project at Rs1.16 cr; Darhal to Chowkian road worth Rs 2.15 cr; Khadarian to Khah Road costing Rs 1.6 cr; Road from km 7th of L025 to Pehra at a cost of Rs 7.3 cr and construction of Plate Girder Bridge 32 Mtr Span Rajnagar Gabbar costing Rs 2.15 cr.

Construction of VIP Suit in PWD Dak Bunglow, Koteranka at a cost of Rs 91.83 lakhs was also inaugurated on the occasion.

The Lt Governor also unveiled the Annual Action Plan MGNREGA & 15th FCA, 2021-22 for Panchayats Dhar, Gakhrote and Tarkassi.

Earlier, the Lt Governor e-inaugurated Multipurpose Sports Stadium, Rajouri worth Rs 12.3 cr. It is the 5th Sports Stadium in addition to Indoor Sports Stadium at Kotranka worth Rs 3.82 crore, which is on the verge of completion. Similarly, three other stadia at Nowshera, Kalakote and Lamberi are also going to be completed soon.

J&K government is working with an agenda of equitable development to ensure the welfare of every section of society and special focus is being laid on improving road connectivity, especially in rural and remote areas for the socio-economic development of the people living in these areas, said the Lt Governor.

On the occasion, the Lt Governor handed over financial assistance, stationery items, swachhata kits, various certificates and sanction letters to beneficiaries under different departmental schemes.

He also distributed Baby Kits, Kisan Credit Cards, Sports Kits etc. to the beneficiaries. The Lt Governor also distributed blankets and gifts to the beneficiaries of PMAY.

The Lt Governor observed that Back to Village programme is a unique and sincere effort of the J&K Government to ensure that the benefits of the Social Security and beneficiary oriented schemes reach to every eligible beneficiary.

The locals lauded the government for bringing governance to the doorsteps of the rural population through Back to Village initiative.
