11 COVID-19 deaths, 878 fresh infections recorded in J&K

Jammu district tops with 252 whileas Srinagar district stands second with 156 positive cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded 878 fresh COVID-19 cases, while 11 fatalities took place in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 79,106 and the death toll to 1,242, officials said.

Jammu district reported the highest number of 252 new COVID-19 cases, followed by 156 cases in Srinagar district, they said.

“The Union Territory recorded 878 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours – with 456 in Jammu and 422 in the Kashmir Valley,” the officials said.

The cumulative figure of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now risen to 79,106.

There are 15,460 active coronavirus cases, while 624,04 patients have recovered so far, they said.

Meanwhile, 11 deaths took place in the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir – six in Jammu and five in the Valley, the officials said.

Meanwhile, providing district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar has 15533 positive cases (including 156 cases reported today) with 1908 Active Positive, 13324 recovered (including 225 cases recovered today), 301 deaths; Baramulla has 4575 positive cases (including 52 cases reported today) with 1314 Active Positive, 3137 recovered (including 130 cases recovered today), 124 deaths; Pulwama reported 4052 positive cases (including 17 cases reported today) with 391 active positive cases, 3591 recovered (including 30 cases recovered today), 70 deaths; Kulgam has 2297 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 113 Active Positive, 2141 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 2050 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 160 Active Positive, 1858 recovered, 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3624 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 484 Active Positive, 3073 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 67 deaths;  Budgam has 5075 positive cases (including 53 cases reported today) with 806 Active Positive and 4182 recovered (including 69 cases recovered today), 87 deaths; Kupwara has 3729 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 738 Active Positive, 2923 recovered (including 20 cases recovered today), 68 deaths; Bandipora has 3568 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today) with 449 Active Positive, 3080 recovered (including 20 cases reported today), 39 deaths and  Ganderbal has 2990 positive cases (including 33 cases reported today) with 287 active positive cases, 2674 recoveries (including 24 cases recovered today) and 29 deaths.

Similarly, in Jammu division, officials said that Jammu has 14514 positive cases (including 252 cases reported today) with 3534 active positive cases, 10777 recoveries (including 312 cases recovered today), 203 deaths; Rajouri has 2789 positive cases (including 35 cases reported today) with 775 active positive cases, 1978 recovered (including 12 cases reported today), 36 deaths; Ramban has 1396 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 233 active positive, 1153 recoveries (including 16 cases recovered today), 10 deaths; Kathua has 2140 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 333 Active positive, 1781 recovered (including 81 cases recovered today), 26 deaths; Udhampur has 2369 positive cases (including 27 cases reported today) with 461 active positive cases, 1887 recovered (including 16 cases reported today), 21 deaths; Samba has 1854 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 697 Active Positive, 1135 recoveries, 22 deaths; Doda has 2285 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 906 active positive cases, 1346 recoveries (including 29 cases recovered today), 33 deaths; Poonch has 1859 positive cases (including 17 cases reported today) with 915 active positive, 928 recoveries (including 27 cases reported today), 16 deaths; Reasi has 1034 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 328 active positive, 700 recoveries  (including 15 cases recovered today) and 06 deaths while Kishtwar has 1373 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 628 active positive cases and 736 recoveries (including 17 cases recovered today)  and 09 deaths.
