Awantipora: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant of Lashkar-i-Toiba in Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

In a statement to GNS, the police said that, Police along with 50 RR & 185 CRPF have arrested 01 recently joined militant namely Faisal Ahmad Dar resident of Khankah Bagh Pampore affiliated with outfit Laishker-e-Toiba in Pampore areas near Konibal crossing.

The said militant went missing from 11th September to join the militant ranks of Laishker-e-Toiba and was active in Anantnag, Awantipora and Pampore area.

The statement further states that, its Pertinent to mention that the said arrested militant has uploaded his audio on social Media on 13th September wherein the said militant has claimed to have joined militant ranks and requesting his parents not to look for /search for him as he has joined militant ranks.

Incriminating material of outfit Laishker-e-Toiba has been recovered from the said militant.

Case FIR number 79/2020 under relevant section of Law stands registered at Police Station Pampore, the reads the statement.(GNS)
