Dr Samoon visits govt schools, ITIs on re-opening after the outbreak of COVID-19

SRINAGAR :  Principal Secretary School Education, and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today paid a surprise visit to various Government Schools and ITIs in Srinagar district on re-opening of educational institutions after the outbreak of Corona pandemic.

Dr. Samoon had a detailed assessment regarding implementation of all necessary Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines issued by the Government of India in respect of COVID-19 in these institutions.

During his visit to Government Girls High School Amria Kadal, Principal Secretary took stock of working of the school and appealed the parents and teachers to ensure that the students strictly adhere to all preventive protocols and SOPs regarding the global pandemic which will help smooth functioning of educational institutions in these challenging times.

Principal Secretary interacted with the teaching and non teaching staff of GGHS Amria Kadal and S P Higher Secondary Institute and assured them all support from the government in successful and smooth functioning of these institutes.

Meanwhile, Dr, Samoon visited ITI Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan and reviewed the functioning there with directions for strict implementation of SOPs regarding COVID-19. He inspected Automobile, Computer, Welder, Electrician, Electronic, Wood Crafts and Plumber sections of the Institute. He on the spot directed the Principal to ensure timely conduct of DPC besides organizing a Job Fair on 26th of September 2020 for the pass out candidates.

Principal Secretary instructed the HODs of the Institutes to ensure the attendance of all the teachers on daily basis besides ensuring cleanliness in the institution.

Director Skill Development, Joint Director School Education and other senior officers accompanied the Principal Secretary during his visit.
