According to a video available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the family members are requesting militants to send their son, who is an auto driver by profession, back  home. Tariq  has announced through audio which went viral that he has joined the militant ranks.

His family members said that they have approached the police station Chadoora on 20 September and lodged a missing report about their son. “We are shocked because we never believed that Tariq was inclined towards militancy.
