She directed the DSWO to take up all the issues and update the PRI members about steps for their redressal. She said Panchs Sarpanchs have a key role in addressing grassroots level public issues. She sought close liaison between field functionaries and PRI members to pave the way for achieving good governance goals.

Earlier, the DSWO apprised about the implementation of Special Marriage Assistance scheme, Pre & Post Matric Scholarship scheme, PMAGY, Scholarship to Minority students, Motorized Scooter schemes besides pension to Widow, Old age and Differently abled persons in the District.

On the occasion, Cotton Carry bags made by trainees of various social welfare centers were given to sarpanches for further distribution among the people of their concerned Panchayats.

After the meeting DG also visited old age home Kathua and inquired about the well being of inmates there.

The Social welfare Centre at Village Sahar was also inspected by the visiting officer.
