DG Social Welfare participates in Jan Abhiyan Programme at Samba

SAMBA : Director General Social Welfare Department Jammu, Rehana Batul today visited Samba District and participated in the ongoing Jan Abhiyan programme where she listened to the  demands of the locals and readdressed most of them on the spot.  .

During the interaction programme District Social Welfare officer, Samba, Deep Kumar, BDC chairperson Kamlesh Kumari, Sarpanch Swati Sharma besides other panches and locals were present.

Director General gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised by the Sarpanches, panches and locals, which included status of SMAS, Ladli Beti, motorized-Scooter, increasing income slab of pension, pre-post matric scholarship, minority scholarships and other issues related to other departments.

Director General addressing on the issues raised, informed that Samba district has been a forerunner in providing assistance to eligible applicants under social welfare schemes in UT of J&K.

She appreciated the District social welfare team for achieving zero percent pendency in all the pension cases. While reviewing the aadhar seeding of active pensioners, DG social welfare directed for 100% achievement by involving panchayat representatives and also laid emphasis upon rectifying pensioners list by incorporating the weed outs list. She assured that all genuine demands shall be appropriately taken up at concerned levels and regular appraisals shall also be held for ensuring the completion of tasks assigned on time.

Later, Director General inspected the development works carried out under PMAGY scheme of central govt. She stressed on disseminating the information regarding social welfare schemes among rural populations predominately and also exhorted for expediting the development works sanctioned under PMAGY.
