Advisor Khan visits Haj House; takes stock of arrangements

SRINAGAR :  A delegation of Coordination  Committee of Presidents of   Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of several areas called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan at Civil Secretariat here.

The delegation was led by Mohammad Iqbal Ahanger, Chairperson Coordination Committee and comprised of Irshad Ahmad, President MC Hajan, Zahid Hussain Jan, President MC Char-i-Shareef, Advocate Altaf Hussain, President MC Ganderbal, Abdul Kareem, President MC Kunzar, Umar Kakroo, President MC Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad, President MC Devsar, and Babloo Gusumi, President MC Kulgam.

The delegation raised several issues pertaining to security, accommodation and empowerment of Urban Local Bodies with the Advisor.

They sought cooperation from the district administration and other line departments while dealing different kinds of developmental works in their respective areas. They also demanded creation of fair price shops, gym facilities, sports infrastructure in their areas besides other developmental infrastructure.

The delegation also demanded maintenance of sports stadium in Char-i-Shareef, development of Turf Cricket ground at Fathepora Ganderbal, establishment of Hockey turf at Delina Baramulla and creation of other infrastructure in several areas.

While interacting with them, Advisor Khan maintained that the sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir is being developed on international standards and will be one of the finest in the country. He added that J&K will be the powerhouse of sports across the country.

Advisor Khan lauded the exemplary courage of the elected Members and said that Government will take every possible step for their security and other logistics so that they can deliver efficiently and fearlessly on ground. He urged them to work with dedication and commitment so that the developmental aspirations of general public are fulfilled.
