BSF kills an ‘intruder’ near LoC in Uri: Army
Baramulla: Army on Tuesday claimed that Border Security Force shot dead an intruder in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Sources said that 12 Brigade of Army reported at police station Uri that one intruder has been shot dead by sentry of 70 Battalion of BSF at Dulanjha Post of Uri.
According to sources, an intruder was spotted coming towards the LoC fencing when he was challenged.
“He hid behind a tree and was warned that he will be fired upon if he didn’t come out with his hands held up. The intruder came out and was asked to walk towards the fence. Subsequently the intruder came close to the fence and threw some papers across the fence, which were checked. The intruder was asked to strip for closer search, but he ran back and after repeated verbal warnings the intruder was shot at by the BSF sentry. He fell on the ground across and efforts made to retrieve his dead body from no man’s land. The search for the body is underway,” an official said.
