Nitishwar Kumar is new Principal Secretary to LG

Srinagar: The Appointment Committee of Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of DoPT for inter-cadre deputation of Nitishwar Kumar, from Uttar Pradesh cadre to the Union Territory of J&K for a period of one year.

Soon after the approval, General Administration Department of Jammu and Kashmir issued an order posting Nitishwar Kumar as Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha replacing Bipul Pathak.

The GAD order said that Pathak has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department.

“He shall continue to hold the charge of Principal Secretary Science and Technology Department, CEO, JaKeGA and CEO, JAKEDA, in addition to his own duties, till further order,” read the order issued by GAD of J&K UT.

An IAS officer of 1996, Kumar was Private Secretary to incumbent Lt Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha from 07/07/2014 to 03/05/2018 when Sinha was the State Minister of Railways in Modi-headed union government’s first tenure.

Presently Kumar was Member Secretary, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Department of School Education & Literacy.
