Srinagar: One person, hailing from Srinagar, who was impersonating as a doctor was apprehended by the police in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.
Police sources said that the arrested person was running a clinic at main town Kupwara from the last one month and used to visit the facility on Sundays.
The accused has been identified as Masood Ahmad Khan son of late Ghulam Mohammad Khan, a resident of Pamposh Colony Badshah Nagar Srinagar.
Quoting official sources, local news agency KNS reported that the arrested person is working as Sanitary Inspector in Health Department and was presently posted in Bone & Joint Hospital Barzulla Srinagar.
While confirming the arrest of alleged fake doctor, a police officer told KNS that prima-facie it was not immediately known whether the doctor was a fake. He said the case under FIR number 225/2020 U/S 420, 486, 471 IPC has been registered in PS Kupwara and further investigation taken up.
