The house belonged to the brother of a police officer and some of the building’s windowpanes were shattered under the impact of the blast, the official said.

He said police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway to ascertain the nature and cause of the explosion.

“It is premature to say anything right now… Our investigation is on,” the official said.

Police, Army and intelligence agency officers camped in the area on Sunday and started investigating the matter.

“Nothing can be said at this moment,” officials said, adding that small rounded steel pellets have been recovered from the spot while all other necessary samples have been collected from the spot.

“The matter is being investigated as such an explosion has left security setup in a tight spot and militancy related aspect in this issue cannot be ruled out,” officials said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Chandan Kohli said that the explosion was of low intensity and of mysterious nature, reported KNO.
