Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded highest single-day spike of Covid-19 cases as 1079 tested positive for the disease.

Officials said that 1079 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19) – 457 from Kashmir and 622 from Jammu division – were reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 39943.

The officials further said that 680 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals – 104 from Jammu Division and 576 from Kashmir Division, taking the tally of recovered patients to 30759 while as out of 39943 positive cases, 8441 are active positive.

“Out of 1012892 test results available, 972949 samples have been tested as negative till September 03, 2020,” said the officials.

Srinagar reported 139 positive cases; Baramulla, 14: Pulwama, 33; Kulgam, 17; Shopian, 28; Anantnag, 27; Budgam, 63; Kupwara, 30; Bandipora, 49 and; Ganderbal, 57.

Jammu district reported 484 cases; Rajouri, 15; Ramban, 06, Kathua, 21, Udhampur, 16, Samba, 26; Doda, 14; Poonch, 08; Reasi, 10 and; Kishtwar, 22 cases.

Meanwhile, with 12 more Covid-19 related deaths in past 24 hours, the toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 745.

Reports said that ten fatalities were reported from Kashmir valley and three from Jammu division.
