Srinagar: Three militants were killed, an army major and two policemen were injured in a gunfight in Yadipora area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources told GNS, that three militants were killed in the gunfight, however, their identification couldn’t be ascertained yet.
Official sources further said that an army major and two policemen were also injured in the exchange of fire.
Earlier, According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s RR 29 and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Yadipora. As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them.
The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
