From 600 plus +tive to 400 plus, J&K reports slight decline in Covid-19 cases

9 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in Ladakh, tally reaches 90

Srinagar: The fresh Covid-19 positive cases have come down from 600+ to 400+ after several days and 428 new cases, 274 from Kashmir and 154 from Jammu division were reported today in Jammu and Kashmir thus taking the total number of positive cases in UT to 33075.

Officials said that 373 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 95 from Jammu Division and 278 from Kashmir Division taking the tally of recovered people to 25205.

They said that out of 33075 positive cases, 7246 are active positive and 25205 have recovered.

“Out of 877836 test results available, 844761 samples have been tested as negative till August 24, 2020,” the officials said.

Srinagar has 1353 active positive; Baramulla, 576; Pulwama 427 active positive cases; Kulgam 248; Shopian, 98; 472; Budgam, 560; Kupwara, 561; Bandipora, with 840 and; Ganderbal, 581.

Seven more patients, who were tested positive for COVID-19, died on Monday in Kashmir Valley, thus taking the toll of deaths due to Novel Coronavirus to 636 in Jammu and Kashmir.

An official told the news agency KNO that seven persons who died today include a 70-year-old woman from Noorpora Tral, a 65-year-old man from Kupwara, a 55-year-old woman from Naid Kadal, a 55-year-old woman from Khanda Budgam, a 70-year-old woman from Kupwara, a 45-year-old man from Pinglena Pulwama and an 87-year-old Chadoora Nagam Budgam.
