Handwara: A motorcyclist was killed and five persons were injured in two separate road mishaps in Handwara areas of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Witnesses said that a Swift Car bearing no JK09B-1774 skidded off the road and collided with a culvert in Hangah Mawer area of Handwara. Five persons, travelling in the vehicle, were injured.

All the injured were shifted to district hospital Handwara for treatment where there condition is stated to stable, sources said, identifying the injured as Faisal Ahmad Bhat son of Abbdul Rashid Bhat of Darbal Payeen, Ruqiya daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Bhat of Tantary Gund, Fahmeeda wife of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Tantary Gund, Ab Ahad Bhat son of Abdul Aziz Bhat and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat son Fatah Mohammad Bhat, both residents of Tantary Gund.

Meanwhile, in a separate accident, a motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a car at Wodipora Handwara.

The biker was critically injured in the mishap and was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Rahman Hajam.
