Div Com discusses Independence Day-2020 arrangements

JAMMU : Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, today chaired a meeting of officers to discuss the arrangements for the  celebration of Independence Day- 2020.

It was informed in the meeting that the venue of the main function shall be Parade Ground, Jammu, where the chief guest shall unfurl the National Flag.

The Div Com asked Deputy Commissioner, Jammu,  Sushma Chauhan and other senior functionaries of Police and District Administration to work in close coordination for the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations. He also sensitized the officers about their role and responsibility and instructed them to make fool-proof arrangements in advance for the national function. He instructed them to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol during Independence Day celebration.

Health Department was instructed to deploy men with thermal guns at all entry points as mandatory for Covid-19 containment. The Health department was further asked to spread and publicize the theme of Aatmanirbar Bharat among the masses through various activities in the function and on social media platforms during Independence Day celebration.

Sanjeev Verma asked the Deputy Commissioner Jammu to felicitate Covid warriors for recognition of their services rendered during pandemic in the district.

Threadbare discussion was held on  security arrangements,   traffic, security passes, seating arrangements, Full Dress Rehearsal, decoration, Shahnaivadan, commentators, illumination of government offices, PAS, Power and water supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, Barricading at venue of the function and other vital issues.

The concerned officers were given strict instructions to ensure all related arrangements in advance for smooth celebration of Independence Day.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the senior officers of Police, Army, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, Information, Traffic, Health, Education, Fire services, Security, PWD, Sports Council and other concerned.
