Aug 05 will be marked as ‘day of mourning’: Omar
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Asserting that his party National Conference (NC) has not accepted the decisions made by the Government of India (GoI) on August 05, 2019, party’s vice president, Omar Abdullah today said that Kashmiris will mark the day as a ‘day of mourning’.

“We have not accepted August 5, nor will we do it. But to get it back we will prudently fight for it. Neither we will come on roads nor will we make such a situation which will give them (GoI) an excuse to use force against us and our people. We have to knock a separate door for it. We are fighting for restoration of article 370 in Supreme Court,” Omar told a local news agency.

He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir mark the day (Aug 05) as a day of mourning inside their homes.

Commenting on people not taking to streets post August 05, Omar said, “This time people thought wisely and were not swayed by the emotions. That is good, because they (GoI) were ready to kill us in thousands. They were surprised when no one was killed.”
