Family of ‘murdered’ Hajibal youth demands identification of killers

Baramulla: A day after missing 16-year-old youth from Hajibal Baramulla was found murdered under mysterious circumstances from a pool in Doribal Qaziabad forest area on Wednesday, the family of the slain youth demanded swift probe and identification of killers.

Pall of gloom descended on Hajibal village after body of the youth reached home who had gone with his aunt as guest to her maternal home in Hunoora Rafaiabad on 6 July and went missing meritoriously.

Mourning family inmates told Kashmir Images that Ashiq Hussain Bhat son of Hussain Bhat of Hajibal Baramulla went along with her aunt to Hanoora, as per her aunt, he went out with her brother to play cricket but while returning home, Ashiq went missing.

“As we received a call from Hanoora family informing us that Ashiq has left the place but he had not returned home. We got worried and searched him everywhere but couldn’t trace him. We lodged missing report with police and they started investigations,” said brother of slain youth Irshad Ahmad.

“Yesterday, after 17 days, police station Dangiwacha informed us that the body of the missing youth was recovered from Pool in forest area of Doribal Qaziabad on Wednesday,” he said.

Demanding justice and identification of killers, the victim family said that they want identification of the killers and stern action against the murders who killed the innocent youth in cold blood.

“After autopsy when the body of the slain youth reached his native village pall of gloom descended on the entire area and people offered funeral prayers amid sobs and tears,” witness said.

“We want justice and identification of killers immediately. My brother has been brutally murdered and later thrown in to a forest pool. Why they killed him,” sister of the slain youth asked with tears rolling down her eyes.

Family inmates smell the conspiracy of aunt and his family including another person who putting up with her family from last 18 years at Hunoora .The circumstantial evidence and injury marks on body suggests that it is prima facia as a case of murder, family inmates claims.

Police has already registered a case in this regard and investigation is going on taking into account all the angles of the ‘murder’ mystery.

“Police have taken the cognizance of the case and investigations are going on,” said SHO Dangiwacha Dr. Yasar Mahmood, who declined to divulge further details as case was under investigation.

“We are waiting for the postmortem report and accordingly will take up investigation,” he added.
