Covid-19: J&K reports 608 fresh positive cases; 11 deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 608 new Covid-19 positive cases, 502 from Kashmir and 106 from Jammu division taking the tally of infected people to 15258 while as eleven more virus related were reported today taking the death toll to 266.

Official sources told GNS that five deaths occurred at SKIMS, four at SMHS hospital while one each was reported from SKIMS Bemina and CD hospital.

The fatalities include 96-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla, 70-year-old woman from Lalbazar Srinagar, 50-year-old from Mirbazar Kulgam, elderly from Parraypora Srinagar, 54-years-old man from Fateh Kadal Srinagar, 64-years-old woman from Dangerpora Sopore , 55-year-old woman from Budgam, 65-year-old from Sangrama, 85-year-old from Sopore, 74-year-old man from Rawalpora, 43-year-old man from Parigam and 85-year-old man from Papcha area of Bandipora

Meanwhile, the 608 persons who tested positive for Covid-19 include 51 CRPF, six BSF and 9 Army personnel besides 134, whose samples were taken from Qazigund toll post and are therefore mainly migrant labourers, GNS reported.

Officials said that out of 15258 positive cases, 6540 are active positive and 8455 have recovered while as out of 528946 test results available, 513688 samples have been tested as negative till July 21, 2020.

Providing district-wise breakup, officials said that Bandipora has 478 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 121 Active Positive, 352 recovered (including 01 case recovered today) and 05 deaths; Srinagar has 3283 positive cases (including 213 cases reported today) with 1961 Active Positive, 1253 recovered, 69 deaths; Anantnag district has 1097 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today), with 363 Active Positive, 716 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today),  18 deaths; Baramulla has 1651 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 674 Active Positive, 922 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 55 deaths; Shopian has 1168 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 365 Active Positive, 784 recovered and 19 deaths; Kupwara has 965 positive cases (including 47 cases reported today) with 362 Active Positive, 588 recovered  (including 44 cases recovered today) and 15 deaths; Budgam has 948 positive cases (including 83 cases reported today) with 449 Active Positive and 480 recovered cases (including 50 cases recovered today) and 19 deaths; Ganderbal has 307 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 177 active positive cases and 126 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today) and 04 deaths; Kulgam has 1186 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today) with 297 Active Positive and 864 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today) and 25 deaths and Pulwama reported 1042 positive cases (including 43 cases reported today) with 494 active positive cases and 534 recovered (including 20 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.

Similarly, Jammu has 651 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 199 active positive cases and 440 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today) and 12 deaths; Udhampur has 367 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today)   with 67 active positive cases, 299 recovered and 01 death; Samba has 340 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 163 Active Positive and 176 recoveries and 01 death; Rajouri has 439 positive cases (including 37 cases reported today) with 318 active positive cases and 119 recovered and 02 deaths; Kathua has 386 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 116 Active positive and 269 recovered (including 18 cases recovered today) and 01 death; Kishtwar has 90 positive cases with 61 active positive cases and 29 recovered; Ramban has 419 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 183 active positive and 236 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today); Reasi has 86 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 41 active positive and 45 recovered; Poonch has 155 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 28 active positive and 126 recoveries (including 01 case recovered today) and 01 death while Doda has 200 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today)  with 101 active positive cases and 97 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today) and 02 deaths.
