Militants hurl grenades on security forces, arrested
Srinagar: Two militants who hurled two grenades on a team of security personnel in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday have been arrested, a police spokesman said.
He said that today around 1610 hours militants lobbed two grenades on the security forces deployment near Sail Charsoo on National Highway.
The grenades, however, did not explode. The Bomb Disposal Squad was called in and both the grenades were picked up safely after following security drill, he said.
The spokesman said that during the course of investigation it came to fore that two persons riding a white colour Apache bike had lobbed grenades.
The area was cordoned immediately and during the search of the village Sail, the suspected white colour Apache bike was traced at about 100 meters away from the place of incident, he said.
“During further search of the area, both the terrorists were arrested from village Sail Awantipora. They have been identified as Umer and Zahid Yusuf Pala both resident of Aloora Shopian.
