Srinagar: Two JeM militants including a commander were killed and a lady injured in a gunfight with government forces in Srigufara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, police said.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told GNS, that two militants including a Pakistani were killed in an encounter.

Pertinently, 130 militants have been so far this year in Valley.

Earlier, The gunfight had ensued after a joint team of Police, Army’s 03 RR and E/116 of CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Srigufara.

As the joint team reached near the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter. (GNS)
