He said the government should not delay imposing a fresh lockdown if health experts have demanded such a measure.

“We cannot blame anyone for what is happening around. Coronavirus is pandemic and health experts so far have not succeeded to develop any vaccine for it. Even the government is confused as to what to do and what not. We as stakeholders would endorse any decision of the government including lockdown if health experts suggest so,” Khan told reporters here.

He said the business is requirement which can be done afterwards as well but life is precious which cannot be compensated by any means.

“Life comes first, and business cannot be given preference over life. Government should consult health experts and take a call. We will second any decision of the government aimed at to control this deadly virus from deepening its roots in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kashmir’s Divisional Commissioner P K Pole Saturday said that requests from various quarters including doctors and other sections of the society are continuously pouring it wherein they are demanding re-imposing of lockdown in Kashmir and the final call will be taken by the government soon.

According to local news agency KNO, Divisional Commissioner said that demands are coming from various sections of the society including doctors, paramedics, traders and others, who want that the lockdown must be re-imposed.

“The final call will be taken by the competent authority soon. So far government has not taken any decision over the issue,” he said.

Sources said that the divisional administration has apprised the Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu and all his advisors about the demands in the wake of rise in Covid-19 cases and deaths due to the pandemic.

Earlier, in the day, Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation chief Muhammad Yasin Khan had stated that if government announces to re-impose lockdown, the traders will support it fully.

Yesterday, health experts had stated that situation had changed on Covid-19 front as more people were falling prey to it and positive cases were surging.  (With KNO Inputs)
