Covid-19: 27 employees test positive at J&K Bank Corporate Headquarters

SRINAGAR: As valley continues to witness spike in COVID-19 cases and subsequent deaths, at least 27 employees were tested positive for deadly virus at Jammu and Kashmir Bank Corporate Headquarters at Maulana Azad Road here Thursday.
Official sources said 27 employees were tested positive for novel Corona-Virus at Jammu and Kashmir Bank Corporate Headquarters following which the bank authorities decided to close all except Vice-President’s office there on Friday as a precautionary measure to slowdown the spread of deadly virus.
Sources said the staff members have also been directed to work from home for continuity of business operations while all official activities will remain suspended on Friday as a precautionary measure.
In an instant measure to contain Corona-Virus to spread its tentacles, bank management ordered to close ground floor- General Department CHQ, Ground Floor- Enquiry Department CHQ, 1st Floor Vigilance Department, 1st Floor-S&C Department, 1st Floor- IS Audit, 2nd Floor-estate and Engineering, 3rd Floor-all departments including Annex building-Payment and Settlement, Annex building- Risk Management, Air India building-ATM help Desk Section.
The bank management also said the staff members in I/C Service Operations, I/C Payment and Settlement, I/C Government Business, I/C Treasury Operations departments shall ensure to work from home so as to continue business operations.
It may in place to mention that J&K Bank branch Saidakadal in old city was closed after two staffers reported positive for novel Corona-Virus last week.
