PHC Sheeri, UPHC old town Baramulla declared state Winner in Kayakalp Awards 2019-20

Baramulla: For the second time in a row, Primary Health Center Sheeri (PHC) of health block Sheeri achieved another milestone as the hospital has been declared a winner in the entire state under Primary Health Centers (PHCs) category for grant of Kayakalp Awards 2019-20, under National Health Mission Programme- an initiative for improving “Swachhta- cleanliness and hygiene” at the public health facilities.

PHC Sheeri of Health Block Sheeri Baramulla has secured the first position in the Kayakalp Award 2019-2020 for fulfilling criteria such as cleanliness, infection control, and biomedical waste management.

The award was declared by Mission Director National Health Mission J&K .As per the national guidelines of Kayakalp, three levels of Assessments (Internal, Peer, and External) were conducted. PHC Sheeri secured 79.2 percent and got the first position in the Kayakalp Award 2019-2020.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sheeri Dr. Sheikh Farooq Ahmad has expressed gratitude to the higher ups of the department for their support and guidance apart from thanking to his staff an team of doctors and paramedic at PHC for their dedication and contribution towards the cause as second time in row PHC Sheeri shines at state level.

He informed that Block Sheeri has honour of bagging another state award in Urban Primary Heath Center category as UPHC old town was declared Winner.

He hoped the facility will cover many milestones in the future with support of the higher authorities, local people and the civil society members.  The hospital will receive a trophy, certificate and a cash award for being adjudged as the best PHC under Kayakalp programme.

People from cross section of society including RKS members of PHC Sheeri felicitated BMO Sheeri and staff of PHC Sheeri hospital for the an award granted in recognition of their  efforts  towards excellence in promoting cleanliness, hygiene and infection control in the  hospital.
