Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police statement said that personnel of Police Station Awantipora, near Ghat Tokina crossing, intercepted a person identified as Mohd Amin Mir resident of Ladermud Awantipora.
“During checking 300 grams of contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Awantipora where he remains in custody,” said the statement.
Accordingly, case FIR No 84/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been taken up, added police.
