Delay in postmortem triggers protest at SDH Tangmarg

Baramulla: People on Wednesday held a protest demonstration at SDH Tangmarg when the dead body of a youth was allegedly kept waiting for postmortem for hours together due to non availability of doctors and the BMO.

Sources said that due to non-availability of doctors and the concerned BMO in SDH Tangmarg, the postmortem process was delayed for hours. The incident angered the family members and locals who later held a protest demonstration in the hospital premises.

Demanding action against BMO and other staffers of the hospital for their alleged negligence, absenteeism and mismanagement in the hospital, the protestors said that they had also informed the Sub District Magistrate, regarding the issues but had received no response.

Meanwhile, when contacted,  BMO Tangmarg,  Dr. Sabha claimed that she had no  information regarding the protest and adding that it is not necessary for her to remain present on duty every time.
