Srinagar: Altaf Hussain Haji has joined as Deputy Director General (DDG), National Statistical Office (Field Operations Division) virtually for Kolkata, West Bengal, a statement issued by PIB said.
The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Government of India is the cadre-controlling authority of Indian Statistical Services. Altaf Hussain joined service in 2001 after qualifying the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2000 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Haji is the only ISS Officer from Kashmir region.
Haji has made significant contributions in the capacity of Regional Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Joint Director and Director & CPIO Jammu and Kashmir towards the smooth conduct of various types of surveys in Kashmir region since 2004, said the statement.
