With 198 fresh cases, tally of Covid-19 positive reaches 4285

JAMMU: Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday 198 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) thus taking the total number of positive cases to 4285.

The officials said that among 198 new infected persons, 33 were from Jammu division and 165 from Kashmir division.

They said that 108 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 12 from Jammu Division and 96 from Kashmir Division.

“Out of 4285 positive cases, 2916 are Active Positive, 1324 have recovered and 45 have died; 05 in Jammu division and 40 in Kashmir division,” said the officials.

They further said that out of 227906 test results available, 223621 samples have been tested as negative till June 8, 2020.

“214595 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 42381 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 51 in Hospital Quarantine, 2916 in hospital isolation and 55577 under home surveillance. Besides, 113625 persons have completed their surveillance period,” said the officials.

They said that of the total 4285 positive cases in J&K 1503 have been reported as travelers while 2782 as others.
