SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today reviewed the status of various sponsored schemes and benefits reaching beneficiaries at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi, Srinagar.

The Director took a detailed review regarding list of beneficiaries covered under various centrally sponsored schemes CAPEX during the year 2019-20, farm wise list of machinery purchased during last five years and requirement thereof.

The status of direct benefit transfer to the beneficiaries, list of works taken under the component maintenance, up-gradation of infrastructure, latest status of KCC, PM-KISAN, PM-KYK schemes, status of soil health cards and other important farmer friendly programmes was also reviewed.

Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers to devise a strategy for improving working capabilities of field functionaries of the department under their control, to put in professional endeavor to achieve the physical targets in time bound manner so that agriculture sector is made more remunerative and glamorous enterprise.

He emphasized upon officers to achieve the set targets in a time bound manner with transparency and accountability so that the benefit of all schemes is delivered to the farmers.

Director passed directions to every officer and official of the Department to remain vigilant against any outburst of locust threat and also requested conscious citizens of society to feel free to contact any field functionary or any agriculture officer, if locust swarm is spotted  anywhere in the field to save crops from getting damaged.

Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Deputy Director Agriculture Central, all Chief Agriculture Officers and other senior officers of the Department were present in the meeting.
