109 KM of Road length to be macadamized in Budgam: DC

BUDGAM : Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, today, convened a meeting of PWD department in order to have a firsthand status of works presently going on under different sectors including, CNT, NABARD, CRF across the district.

It was given out that due to unprecedented circumstances all development works, particularly macadamization of roads got affected.

While elaborating on start up process, SE R&B said that annual repairing of all main roads has commenced across district under different sectors. He said presently improvement work is in full swing covering road sections between Bemina to Budgam, Humhama to Budgam, Budgam to Ichgam. In Chadoora division improvement work is under way between Chadoora to Wathora section, Chadoora to Dadompora and on other links. The meeting was informed.

Apart from improvement process, SE said that 109 kms are earmarked to be macadamized in district Budgam during the current season. He said the tendering process of the same is under process and it is expected that under first phase the department will be able to macadamize 50% of earmarked road length under different sectors in both R&B divisions of Budgam and Chadoora.

Speaking on the occasion the DDC urged upon the concerned to speed up the work and ensure that the works started are completed within the time frame.
