JAMMU, MAY 20: Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, Rohit Kansal today chaired an introductory meeting with the senior officers of PDD and JPDCL to review the status of Power sector, centrally sponsored schemes, revenue realization and related issues pertaining to Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited.

During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on completion of languishing projects and works under ongoing centrally sponsored schemes, augmentation of central workshop/strengthening of workshops, distribution network, over loaded and inadequate power distribution.

Principal Secretary was briefed about the present status of Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY), Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) and several other schemes.

While reviewing progress on these schemes, Rohit Kansal directed the concerned officers to speed up the execution of the centrally sponsored schemes for timely completion. He also asked the officers for removal of bottlenecks, if any, so that the projects are completed at an earliest.

Managing Director JPDCL, Yasha Mudgal, gave a detailed presentation on medium term measures including formation of new enforcement system/wing in line with the enforcement system. She also informed that the target of installation of 100 percent metering in Jammu city and other areas has been taken up on mission mode for providing un-interrupted power supply to the consumers.

Managing Director also informed regarding un-interrupted power supply being provided in the quarantine centres in the Jammu division besides during holy Ramzan.

Principal Secretary directed the concerned authorities to take up all necessary steps to further streamline the functioning of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited. He asked for laying special focus on improving billing system and realization of revenue so that the infrastructure of the Corporation is improved.

Chief Engineer Planning & Procurement JPDCL, Chief Engineer Project JPDCL, Chief Engineer Distribution, JPDCL, Additional Secretary PDD, Director Planning PDD were also present in the meeting while Director Finance and Deputy Secretary PDD attended the meeting through video conferencing.
