Ensure availability of essentials, financial assistance to labours: JKPCC tells Govt

Srinagar: In view of the upcoming occasion of Eid-ul- Fitr, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today sought availability of essential and other facilities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Party also urged the Government to provide free ration to poor and needy people, besides financial assistance to labour class of J&K.

According to a statement, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and Ex. MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar and Former MLC Mohammad Muzaffar Parray have emphasized the JK Government to ensure every basic facility especially the availability of essentials to people, keeping in view the upcoming auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The leader sought free ration to BPL and other categories of poor and needy and those living in far flung areas in JK,” reads the statement.

“The leaders have also drawn the attention of the Government to the hardships confronting Labour class of J&K, who are fully dependent on their daily earnings, but could not earn even a single penny due to the lockdown, as a result, they are at the verge of starvation,” it said.

“They also advised the JK Govt to release the salaries of Govt employees, as that, various Govt offices, have reportedly not been able to release monthly Salaries to their employees on the pretext of some technical difficulty; as a result, they (employee) are also badly hit,” the statement said.

“Till the Technical difficulty whatsoever is resolved, the employees should be paid on old pattern, they told the UT Administration, adding that the current lockdown has caused huge inconvenience to people, the leaders laid emphasizes over ensuring timely help to people especially poor and needy in order to ensure that no one faces starvation,” it added.
