“25 active militants were also arrested,” he said.

Terming Hizb top commander, Reyaz Ahmad Naikoo’s killing a ‘big success for security forces and a major jolt Hizb and militancy network in Kashmir’, Kumar said the killing will help contain over all militancy in Valley.

The IGP said the Lashkar commander Haider’s killing was also a big jolt for the group.

Kumar said the militants involved in Handwara attack in which three CRPF men were killed have been identified and they belong to Lashkar.

The IGP termed the new militant outfit with the name The Resistance Front (TRF) as a “shadow of Lashkar”.

While commenting on the communication blockade in the aftermath of Naikoo, the IGP said it was necessary to maintain law and order.

“We will review the situation and restore services soon,” Kumar said.
